ok i just read this review Deadpool and Wolverine. You can already see the waves of overly enthusiastic praise that it’s the best thing ever, instead of the expected rebuttal that it’s terrible garbage.
Since art (even commercial art) is subjective, it’s hard to see or feel any honest feelings about anything in the Marvel Universe. All the ads and trailers show you stuff that’s best reserved for viewing in the theater; it’s hard to go in there with an open mind.
To be honest, I was pretty tired before sitting down to watch this, but one thing gave me some hope Deadpool and Wolverine: Ryan Reynolds. first two dead Pool The movie is some of my favorite superhero movies. They perfectly capture the character and tone of his comics. With all their jokes, dead Pool The movie tells the story of a man who truly loves himself, cares about his friends, and will do whatever it takes to protect them.
Warning: spoilers Deadpool and Wolverine First
This character thread connects the previous film to this new one. The premise is that Wade Wilson (aka Deadpool) is taken over by the TVA (Time Variance Administration), a time and multidimensional agency from the United States. Loki Disney+ series – and get an invite to the main MCU timeline. He’s excited to interact with all these heroes and potentially become an Avenger.
The problem is Mr. Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen), a TVA agent responsible for watching Fox X-Men universe, plans to delete it – destroy everything Wade ever cared about – because this world’s Logan, aka Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), dead, just as we all are Logan. This loss caused Fox X-Men The universe slowly dies. Now, Deadpool must find Wolverine to replace him and save his universe, and TVA is on a mission to stop him.
So, as I said, this is the setup for the first 15 minutes or so Deadpool and Wolverine. From there, a lot happens, including things you might see in ads. Now, the core dynamic of the movie is the violent buddy relationship between wisecracking Deadpool and straight-man Wolverine.
This Wolverine is from a different timeline, but he’s also the one we know. Jackman doesn’t go out of his way to make this movie special. That’s not the point; he’s just like before, just swearing more. Jackman’s performance is still full of pathos, showing some emotional trauma in this Wolverine as he is considered a loser, unlike the other Wolverines. While it works, it’s also not unlike some of the journeys we’ve seen in other stories he’s starred in.
Jackman and Reynolds have a lot of push and pull in all the scenes they’re in. Their characters handle things very differently – one talks constantly to cover up his feelings, while the other keeps those feelings bottled up and doesn’t share feelings or words at all. Their dynamics remind me of 48 hours But there was more violence between them.
Emma CorrinCassandra Nova, who plays Cassandra Nova, is another villain in the film who is talked about by more people. I don’t know if her character is so deep or if there’s any real reason for it other than who she is. Now, as someone who reads a lot of books X-Men In previous comics, I can tell what I saw with what I know, but I don’t know if that would apply to someone unfamiliar or just watching these movies. Colin gives a pretty good performance and is very threatening on screen. She captures some of Nova’s essence on screen through her elegant dialect and smug attitude.
Regarding the cast, I’ll stop here because I’m not going to ruin people’s lives. After all, there are some really great cameos that Marvel hasn’t shown yet.
Sean Levydirector and co-writer, and george richmondThe cinematographer makes the film quite bright and the colors pop. Wolverine wearing an authentic costume is a big deal in this movie, which looks beautiful on screen thanks to the bright yellow suit and blue, rich blue. Deadpool is a nice deep red color, like we often see in his movies. The film doesn’t look bland, and while you can tell there are CG effects, they fit the overall look.
Deadpool and Wolverine The colors and some of the framing lean more toward looking like a Marvel comic. Some scenes feel like watching a beautiful double-page spread where the action is clear and easy to follow. The fight choreography is also some of the best in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The fight between the two heroes looks pretty good, even if it feels bloody tom and jerry fighting.
The film’s soundtrack doesn’t really stand out, as the music you hear is mostly licensed music. While effective, I think sometimes they’re a little too snarky, like some of the jokes are – but overall, it’s effective. There’s a scene early on that uses a popular song that will be killing off cosplayers for the foreseeable future.
With all the Easter eggs, cameos, and meta-jokes for the audience, Deadpool and Wolverine Maybe a little too much, or should I say not enough for some viewers. At this point, that should be expected, especially in a movie that’s being sold on getting the Marvel Cinematic Universe back on track. It never once annoyed me, and it kept the right amount of energy to be a very fun and exciting MCU superhero adventure, and a celebration of the Marvel movies that led to the MCU. Deadpool and Wolverine Well worth seeing in the theater considering all the snacks and excitement you’ll get.
Deadpool and Wolverine It will be released in theaters everywhere on July 26.
