Game Outlet Europe has begun shipping the 8BitDo FlipPad mobile controller across Europe. The device is now available through Amazon and other retailers.

The launch brings a new wired controller for portrait mobile gaming to the regional market, with support for iPhone and Android devices that meet the stated software requirements. Game Outlet Europe is distributing the product from controller maker 8BitDo.

The FlipPad is a compact, flip-style gamepad that connects directly to phones through USB-C. It is aimed at players of controller-supported mobile games, particularly retro and arcade titles suited to vertical play.

The controller is priced at €29.99 and £24.99. It is designed to work with most phone cases and does not require a separate power supply.

The controller uses a hinged design that folds away when not in use and can remain attached while the user takes a call or sends a message. Its hinge has been tested to 6,000 open-and-close cycles.

The USB-C connector is rated for more than 10,000 insertions. By using a wired connection rather than Bluetooth, the product is positioned as an alternative for users concerned about wireless connectivity interrupting play.

Its layout includes a D-pad and ABXY buttons, reflecting a more traditional handheld console format than touchscreen controls. The focus on portrait orientation sets it apart from many mobile controllers built for landscape play.

Accessory makers have increasingly targeted the mobile games market as smartphone titles become more complex and players seek familiar control schemes on handheld devices. Controllers that attach directly to phones have become a growing category, particularly among users of streaming services, retro compilations and arcade-style games.

8BitDo is best known for retro-style controllers and other third-party gaming hardware. It has built a reputation around designs that echo older console formats while working with current devices.

Game Outlet Europe, based in Sweden, describes itself as an independent distributor of video games and gaming accessories with business in more than 40 countries. It says it distributes products globally across every continent.

The FlipPad supports Apple devices running iOS 26.2 or later and Android devices running Android 13.0 or later. It is now on sale in Europe for €29.99 and £24.99.

The FlipPad’s wired design also keeps the setup relatively simple for users who want to avoid pairing or charging another device. Its compact form factor is intended to make it easier to carry alongside a smartphone.

The flip mechanism allows the controller to be folded when the phone is being used for activities other than gaming. Compatibility with a wide range of phone cases may also reduce the need for users to remove their cases before connecting the device.

The controller’s USB-C connection provides a direct link between the phone and gamepad during play. Its portrait-focused layout is particularly suited to games designed around vertical smartphone displays. The €29.99 and £24.99 price points place the device within the lower-cost segment of dedicated mobile gaming accessories.

Availability through Amazon and other European retailers gives consumers multiple purchasing options across the region. The launch adds another product to the expanding range of smartphone gaming peripherals available to European players.

Its combination of a compact design, wired connection and portrait orientation is intended to appeal to users looking for a console-style control experience on mobile devices.
