Imtiaz Ali’s pre-partition romantice drama Main Vaapas Aaunga should regain its lost screens since Alpha didn’t stike the right chords with the audience

Main Vaapas Aaunga collected Rs. 1.75 crore on its 4th Saturday, registering a 75 per cent spike from the previous day. This took the 4th weekend’s cume to Rs. 2.75 crore in two days. It is expected to close this weekend around Rs. 4.50-5.00 crore nett at the Indian box office.

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the pre-partition romantic drama now stands at Rs. 51.75 crore. It will surpass the Rs. 55 crore mark by the end of its 4th week. The momentum has slowed down this week, probably because of losing screens to Alpha. Since Alia Bhatt’s film met with negative word-of-mouth, Main Vaapas Aaunga should regain its lost shows in the coming days.

The movie is on the track to emerge as a successful venture. Based on current trends, the movie has the potential to hit around Rs. 65 crore nett in its full run. However, a lot will depend on its hold in the coming two weeks, as the film will keep on facing multiple significant releases

The Box Office Collections for Main Vaapas Aaunga in India are as follows:

    Day Nett
    Week One Rs. 11.50 cr.
    Week Two Rs. 21.25 cr.
    Week Three Rs. 16.25 cr.

    4th Friday Rs. 1.00 cr.
4th Saturday Rs. 1.75 cr. (est.)

    Total Rs. 51.75 cr.
