MANGA WEEK – FALL 2026: FANTAGRAPHICS TO PUBLISH THIRD VOLUME OF MOTO HAGIO’S ‘THE POE CLAN’
Newer Stories Set During World War II

Fantagraphics will publish the third volume of Moto Hagio’s classic manga The Poe Clan, over five years since they released the second. This third volume was not part of the original series, which ran from 1972 to 1976 and was an influential early boys love manga. Hagio returned to The Poe Clan in the 2000s, and in 2016, the manga magazine Flowers published Hagio’s first new chapter. That issue almost doubled the magazine’s usual circulation, and since then, Hagio has continued to add to her story. Now Fantagraphics, which published the original series as a two-volume series in 2019 and 2022 (see “SDCC Manga Round-Up: It’s Old But It’s Good”) and then in a combined edition in 2024, will publish the third volume as a 208-page hardcover, with about half the page count of the earlier volumes but the same larger 7.3″ × 9.8″ trim size. It will be released on March 30, 2027, with an MSRP of $24.99.
Hagio was inducted into the Eisner Awards Hall of Fame in 2022.
The Poe Clan is a series of stories that follows a family of vampires through the centuries; the most recent volume is set in the UK during World War II.
