Invincible may have ended in 2018 with issue 144, but in comics nothing is ever truly over. Invincible co-creator Robert Kirkman is still expanding the universe, thanks to spinoff comics like Invincible Universe: Battle Beast, and he has no plans of stopping anytime soon.
“I’m having a lot of fun with Battle Beast,” Robert Kirkman says during an interview with Comicbook.com. “There will be other things. Cory Walker and I are doing an Invincible Universe: Ella Mental backup story in the Capes series that’s running right now. Every month you get four pages of Ella Mental by us. And that’s a new character we introduced in Invincible VS, and it’s cool to have her in comic form and integrating her into the comic universe.”
“We will be doing more stuff like that as time goes on. There’s a lot of characters out there it would be nice to do something with. Allen the Alien, or Omni-Man, or other characters like Best Tiger and Le Bruiser, and some more off the beaten path obscure characters that it’s fun to get in there and do stuff with.”
Personally, I would enjoy a Cecil and Donald buddy cop comic. The possibilities are endless.
