Square Enix talks Kingdom Hearts 4 launch timing, promises the game won’t be delayed

Kingdom Hearts 4 fans can rest easy knowing that the game won’t be delayed – at least if new comments from the team are anything to go by.
Yesterday, we heard that the game will finally launch in late 2027. Some fans immediately went with the idea that there’ll eventually be delay, but supposedly that won’t be the case.
The first comments come from co-director Tai Yasue. In a D23 panel tonight, he said:
“I can confidently say and promise that it will launch in 2027. Schedule wise, development is very smooth. It’s not like an 80 percent or 90 percent thing, it’s a 100 percent thing.”
If that wasn’t enough, we have comments from series creator Tetsuya Nomura as well. He also doubled down on stating that there won’t be any delays.
“We announced that the game will be coming late 2027, and I saw online that some people were saying, ‘Oh, maybe the actual release date might get pushed back.’ I just wanted to set the record straight – that is not happening. I do hope that people look forward to the game coming in 2027, and the marketing for the game has only just started, and so I do hope that people also look forward to hearing more news as well.”
