The second season of Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars” series “Ahsoka” will premiere Jan. 20, 2027, exclusively on Disney+. The announcement came Aug. 14 during the Disney Entertainment Showcase at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., as part of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
Series creator and Lucasfilm president and CCO Dave Filoni, along with stars Rosario Dawson, Hayden Christensen and Eman Esfandi, took to the stage to debut the trailer for the new season.
Dawson plays Ahsoka Tano, the former Jedi apprentice of Anakin Skywalker. The series, set in the years following Return of the Jedi, finds Ahsoka confronting what it means to be a Jedi, while the galaxy faces a formidable opponent in Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen). In the second season, while Ahsoka and her apprentice, Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), are trapped on a mysterious world with a pair of fallen Jedi (Rory McCann and Ivanna Sakhno), their friends Hera (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Ezra (Esfandi), Zeb (Steve Blum) and the droid Chopper must lead the efforts to protect the New Republic from Thrawn and his sinister allies, who seek to restart the galactic civil war.
Filoni, who wrote the series, also serves as an executive producer alongside Jon Favreau and Carrie Beck. Karen Gilchrist is the co-executive producer, and John Bartnicki and Joan Schneider are the producers.
