As summer turns to fall, Netflix’s September lineup includes a mix of returning series, new movies, and live events. Here’s an updated, yet still very early look at everything we know that’s coming to Netflix in the US throughout the month.
In scripted television, Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen returns for a second season. Ryan Murphy’s true-crime anthology continues with Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, and a reboot of the sitcom A Different World premieres. Additionally, a Call My Agent! continuation movie reunites the ASK agency team five years after the series finale.
Netflix is also expanding its live sports broadcasts this month. The schedule features a live NFL game from Australia between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams, as well as a boxing rematch between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. Furthermore, the Untold documentary series will release new profiles on Australian Olympic breakdancer Raygun and pop-culture figure Mr. T.
Finally, licensed movies joining the library include Straight Outta Compton, T2 Trainspotting, and Smile 2, alongside Russell Crowe’s true-crime thriller Unabomber. An animated LEGO ONE PIECE adaptation will also make its debut.

What’s Coming to Netflix on September 1st
- Doctor-X: Surgeon Michiko Daimon (Multiple Seasons) – Michiko Daimon is a fiercely independent and highly skilled freelance surgeon who despises authority, bureaucracy, and hospital politics. Operating under the catchphrase “I never fail,” she bounces between Japan’s top university hospitals, taking on impossibly risky medical cases while constantly clashing with the corrupt and power-hungry medical establishment. This long-running hit Japanese medical drama stars Ryōko Yonekura, Kei Tanaka, Yuki Uchida, and Ittoku Kishibe.
- Greta (2018) – After returning a lost handbag to an eccentric widow, a young woman forms an unlikely friendship that rapidly devolves into a terrifying nightmare as the older woman’s obsessive, sinister nature is revealed. Directed by Neil Jordan, this psychological thriller stars Isabelle Huppert, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Maika Monroe.
- Heartland (Season 19) – As a raging wildfire threatens the Bartlett-Fleming ranch, the family is pushed to their limits to protect their six-generation home. While Amy works to balance her reputation as a horse trainer with her new romance with Nathan, the return of a vengeful rival and the hiring of an unpredictable new ranch hand force the entire family to fight for their legacy and make difficult choices about their future.

- Keanu (2016) – Two mild-mannered cousins are forced to impersonate ruthless street killers to infiltrate a dangerous drug cartel and rescue their beloved, stolen kitten. Directed by Peter Atencio, this action-comedy stars Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Tiffany Haddish, and Method Man.
- Manny (2014) – Narrated by Liam Neeson, this documentary chronicles the extraordinary life of Manny Pacquiao, tracing his journey from abject poverty in the Philippines to becoming a boxing world champion across eight different weight divisions and a revered political figure. Directed by Ryan Moore and Leon Gast, the film features intimate behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with Pacquiao, his family, and his trainer Freddie Roach.
- Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016) – Ready to sell their home and move to the suburbs, Mac and Kelly Radner face a new nightmare when an out-of-control sorority moves in next door. Desperate to reclaim their peace and close the sale, they team up with their former nemesis, Teddy, to take the girls down. Directed by Nicholas Stoller, this comedy sequel stars Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Rose Byrne, and Chloë Grace Moretz.
- Ready or Not (2019) – A young bride’s wedding night takes a terrifying turn when her eccentric new in-laws force her to play a lethal, time-honored game of hide-and-seek in order to survive until dawn. Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, this dark horror-comedy stars Samara Weaving, Adam Brody, Mark O’Brien, Henry Czerny, and Andie MacDowell.
- Straight Outta Compton (2015) – In 1980s Compton, California, five young men channel their experiences of systemic racism and street life into brutally honest music, forming the groundbreaking gangsta rap group N.W.A. As their fame explodes, they must navigate a ruthless music industry, police harassment, and bitter internal rivalries. Directed by F. Gary Gray, this biographical drama stars O’Shea Jackson Jr., Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, and Paul Giamatti.
- T2 Trainspotting (2017) – Twenty years after betraying his friends and fleeing with their drug money, Mark Renton returns to Edinburgh. As he reconnects with Spud, Sick Boy, and the recently escaped Begbie, old resentments and dangerous habits quickly resurface. Directed by Danny Boyle, this black comedy-drama sequel stars Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller, and Robert Carlyle.
- The Art of Racing in the Rain (2019) – Narrated by a philosophical golden retriever named Enzo, this touching drama follows his lifelong bond with his owner, an aspiring race car driver. Through observing his owner’s triumphs and heartbreaks, Enzo learns that the techniques needed on the racetrack can also be used to navigate the unpredictable journey of life. Directed by Simon Curtis, it stars Milo Ventimiglia, Amanda Seyfried, and Kevin Costner as the voice of Enzo.
- Untold Raygun: Breaking Badly (2026) Netflix Original – New entry to the sports docu-series that will track the Olympian that is Rachael Gunn, Australia’s breakdancing entrant.
- Valentine (2001) – Four friends are stalked in the days leading up to Valentine’s Day by a vengeful killer wearing a Cupid mask. As the body count rises, the women realize the murderer is a boy they mercilessly bullied in junior high school, back for deadly revenge. Directed by Jamie Blanks, this slasher horror film stars Denise Richards, David Boreanaz, Marley Shelton, and Jessica Cauffiel.

- Driven (Seasons 1-3) – Passionflix’s steamy romance with Olivia Grace Applegate and Michael Roark.
- Lovesick (Season 1) Netflix Original – Mexican romantic drama series. During the Mexican Revolution, Emilia Sauri pursues her dream of becoming a doctor, defying convention in search of love, purpose and independence.
- Turning Point: Generation 9/11 (2026) Netflix Original – Documentary to mark the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and how a single day shaped the next generation.

Directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, this comedy inspired by Jo Koy’s life experiences and stand-up routines stars Koy, Jimmy O. Yang, Tia Carrere, Brandon Wardell, and Eva Noblezada.
- Teenage Wasteland (2026) Netflix Original – Sundance documentary. In 1991, a teacher and his students exposed a toxic waste conspiracy.

- The Secret Lives of Dentists (2002) – An introverted dentist suspects his wife and business partner of infidelity, leading him to internalize his mounting anxiety through feverish hallucinations of an obnoxious patient. Directed by Alan Rudolph, this dark psychological drama stars Campbell Scott, Hope Davis, Denis Leary, and Robin Tunney.

- Fauda (Season 5) Netflix Original – Set two years after the events of October 7, Doron is pulled into a perilous deep-cover operation in Marseille when an old friend goes off-book on a mission of revenge. As the team races to stop a catastrophic attack on Israel, they must confront their severe PTSD and the devastating mental toll of their endless war. - Dang! (Season 1) – The fun and messy New York City lives of a brother and sister duo are abruptly derailed when their high-achieving older sister suddenly shows up wanting to hang out with them. Created by Andrew Law and animated by Titmouse, this comedy series features the voices of Stephanie Hsu, Poppy Liu, and Law himself.
