Anup Soni reacts to Ajay Devgn replacing him as Crime Patrol host: ‘Sure he will bring his own style’

Anup Soni has reacted to Ajay Devgn taking over as the host of the popular crime-based show Crime Patrol. Soni, who became closely associated with the series during his long stint as its presenter, said he has little to add about the change but wished Devgn and the team well.
Ajay Devgn is set to make his television hosting debut with the upcoming season of Crime Patrol, replacing Soni as the show’s face. The actor has already shot 15 episodes, according to reports, while the new season is scheduled to premiere on August 31.

Speaking about Devgn stepping into his place to Variety, Soni said, “I am a big fan of Ajay Devgn and have also had the opportunity to share the screen with him in films like Prakash Jha’s Gangaajal and Apaharan.” He added that Devgn would bring his own personality to the long-running show.
“I am sure he will bring his own style and perspective to the show,” Soni said, while extending his best wishes to the team for the new season.
Soni’s association with Crime Patrolhas made him one of the show’s most recognisable presenters. His departure marks a major change for the series, with Devgn now stepping into the spotlight. Rather than expressing disappointment over the replacement, Soni’s comments appear supportive of the Bollywood star taking on the new responsibility.
Devgn’s involvement also marks a notable television move for the actor, who has largely been associated with Hindi cinema. The show’s promotional material has already introduced him as its new host. In the promo, Devgn talks about crimes often being committed by someone known to the victim before assuring viewers, “Main rahunga aapke saath.”
Reports of Rajesh Tailang co-hosting are making rounds
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Mirzapur actor Rajesh Tailang could also host some episodes of the upcoming season. His exact episode count has reportedly not been finalised, with his involvement depending partly on audience response to Devgn’s episodes.
With Devgn taking over and Tailang potentially joining the hosting lineup, Crime Patrol is set for a fresh presentation. For Soni, however, the transition appears to be a cordial one, with the actor choosing to welcome Devgn’s involvement rather than dwell on his own exit.
