Disney+ to stream Formula E globally under new multi-year deal

- Disney has secured the global streaming rights for Formula E under a new multi-year agreement that will bring the all-electric racing series to Disney+ across 144 territories

- The 2026-27 Formula E season will feature 21 rounds across 13 events, with races scheduled in cities including Jeddah, Austin, Miami, Monaco and Mexico City
BURBANK, California: Disney has secured the global streaming rights for Formula E under a new multi-year agreement that will bring the all-electric racing series to Disney+ across 144 territories, with races also available on ESPN and ESPN+ in the United States.
The deal comes as demand for live sports programming remains a key focus for the media industry, helping attract younger audiences and keep streaming subscribers engaged through regular live events.
The 2026-27 Formula E season will feature 21 rounds across 13 events, with races scheduled in cities including Jeddah, Austin, Miami, Monaco and Mexico City. The season begins on December 18 in Jeddah and concludes with the final round in Tokyo on July 25 next year.
The agreement adds to Disney’s sports portfolio, which includes select LALIGA football rights, NBA games and the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Formula E, which is majority-owned by Liberty Global, is also preparing to introduce its next-generation electric race car, GEN4, which the series describes as “the debut of the fastest and most technologically advanced electric racing car ever built.”
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Formula E said it will continue to maintain its broadcast television partnerships.
In the United States, the racing series previously partnered with CBS Sports, with races airing across CBS, Paramount+ and The Roku Channel.
