Following a massive showing at San Diego Comic-Con last month, the teams at Insomniac Games and Marvel Games have finally given us a look at the hardware accompanying their next major release. If you have been waiting to inject some feral energy into your gaming setup, Sony is about to deliver. We are getting a striking new PlayStation 5 Digital Edition bundle and a lineup of custom accessories dedicated entirely to Marvel’s Wolverine. This is not just a standard console with a logo slapped on it; it is a bold, aggressive redesign that channels Logan’s unmistakable intensity straight into your living room.

The Hardware: Battle Yellow and Exposed Scars

At the centre of it all is the PS5 Digital Edition: Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle. Inspired directly by Insomniac’s Battle Reborn suit, the console is draped in a vibrant, unmissable yellow finish and completed with physical damage. The design incorporates Wolverine’s signature claw marks, rendering them as physical slashes that actually let you peek inside the console to see the hardware underneath. (I wonder if that is also helpful for cooling?)

The bundle also includes a matching DualSense wireless controller, complete with furious slash motifs that make it look as though Logan himself has taken a swipe at it. If you are picking up the bundle, you will also receive a digital game code for Marvel’s Wolverine, so you are ready to play the moment the game goes live.

    Design Mechanics:

What this design does exceptionally well is capture raw motion. To achieve this kinetic look, Insomniac Games and Marvel Games collaborated with acclaimed Scottish graphic artist Jock, who also contributed to the game’s key art. Known for his gritty, hand-drawn comic illustrations, Jock’s influence is obvious. The marriage of traditional, loose ink drawing with cutting-edge gaming hardware gives the console an authentic, grounded feel that perfectly suits a character whose primary method of interaction is unbreakable adamantium claws.

If there is a slight snag to the announcement, it is that the flagship bundle is exclusively for the PS5 Digital Edition. Gamers who prefer physical media might feel a bit left out of the main package. However, Sony has anticipated this. If you already own a PS5 Slim or the upcoming PS5 Pro, you do not need to buy a whole new console. They are releasing separate console covers for both disc and digital versions, meaning everyone has a straightforward way to customise their current system.

Sony is also offering a secondary design specifically for PS5 Pro owners. The Marvel’s Wolverine Adamantium Limited Edition console covers and matching DualSense controller swap the bold yellow for a premium, sleek metallic finish. It evokes the unbreakable alloy bonded to Logan’s skeleton, offering a moodier, industrial aesthetic for those who want to channel a different side of the hero.

    The Perfect Match

If you enjoyed the detailed hardware customisation of the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 limited edition console, or if you are a fan of high-end comic book memorabilia that serves a practical purpose, you will genuinely appreciate the craftsmanship here. It caters perfectly to players who love their gaming spaces to reflect the kinetic energy of the titles they are playing.

    Availability

Marvel’s Wolverine is easily one of the most highly anticipated action-packed experiences of the generation. Insomniac Games has a proven track record of delivering rich, character-driven superhero narratives, and this gritty, standalone original story is shaping up to be a monumental release.

The game and the limited-edition hardware will launch globally on September 15, 2026. If you want to secure these items, pre-orders officially open on August 19 at 10:00 AM local time.
