Google TV Freeplay, the built-in feature that lets users watch free content from other content providers on Google TV devices, is welcoming new on-demand content and live channels today. In the US, Google TV users are getting access to more than 10,000 free movies and shows from top studios such as A24 and Lionsgate.
“You can stream everything from Oscar winners like “Lady Bird” to crowd favorites like “Seventeen Again” and “Hell’s Kitchen.” We’ll be refreshing our library all year long,” explained Victoria Wen, Product Manager, Google TV.
On the Live TV front, Google TV Freeplay is now offering more than 300 live channels across news, sports, reality TV, true crime, and more. Bloomberg TV+, Yahoo! Sports Network, and The Martha Stewart Channel are among the latest additions.
Google TV Freeplay is available from the Freeplay app on the Google TV home screen. All free live channels and on-demand movies and TV shows are ad-supported, with content availability varying by market.
