A brand new series set in the world of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is officially in development! While details are limited, we can confirm the series is not a second season, which means Lim Yoon A and Lee Chae Min will not be returning to reprise their roles; instead, The WONDERfools actor Cha Eun Woo has reportedly been cast as the male lead. With Cha Eun Woo’s discharge from mandatory military service in January 2027, filming is likely to get underway sometime in 2027. Here’s everything we know about the new Bon Appétit, Your Majesty series on Netflix.

“Yeong Ji Yeong, a talented chef, wins a prestigious competition, declaring herself the best chef in France, and is offered the job of head chef at a Michelin 3-star bistro in Paris; however, on the day she wins the award, she is mysteriously transported to the Joseon Dynasty in Korea. What is the plot of the new Bon Appétit, Your Majesty series?
At the time of writing, no plot details have been shared for the new series. However, it has been confirmed that the series will be set in the same universe as the much-beloved Bon Appétit, Your Majesty series, with a brand new story and cast.
Who is in the cast of the new Bon Appétit, Your Majesty series?
So far, the only actor to be approached for a role in the new series is Cha Eun Woo. Netflix subscribers will be most familiar with the actor for his role as Lee Un Jeong in the superhero-comedy K-drama, The WONDERfools. He is most well known for his career with the Korean boy band ASTRO and his work as a solo artist.

Cha Eun Woo is currently on mandatory military service, which began on July 28, 2025, and ends on January 27, 2027. There are some conflicting reports regarding his casting, as Kim Yeon Ju of Hankookilbo confirmed his casting as the male lead; meanwhile, Sports Donga reported that the actor’s agency has confirmed they’ve received the offer and that it is currently under review. However, with the actor still serving in the military, “discussions have not yet reached a concrete stage.”

It has also been raised that the damage to the actor’s public image might implicate his involvement in the project, after he was alleged earlier this year to have avoided paying millions in taxes. The actor has since stated he has “paid all the relevant taxes” and is now seeking a resolution to the issue after filing a request for a tax adjudication.
It has been confirmed that Lim Yoon A and Lee Chae Min will not be returning to reprise their roles from the first season.
