11 Aug – The team of the upcoming drama “Nian Xiang Si” has recently denied the notion that a fandom war between its two lead stars’ fans has led to production halt.
Rumours have recently surfaced that the two stars’ teams have been at odds with each other, after Esther Yu, the lead actress, was billed as the first female lead, while Hou Minghao was billed second.
The billing position reportedly caused a conflict between the two stars’ teams, with Hou’s fans reportedly feeling upset about the situation.
This was further fuelled by the fact that neither Esther nor Hou attended the drama’s official launch ceremony. There were also reports that Hou was set to be replaced by another actor – which purportedly led to production being halted on 10 August.

They also stated that it is not convenient for them to replace their lead actor midway through filming, as it would involve substantial breach-of-contract costs and require a large amount of footage to be reshot.
