The actor, who was taken from the venue to a nearby hospital by ambulance, is said to be doing better following the health scare. Lambert’s rep told TMZ that he didn’t have much to eat, which caused his blood sugar to drop.
Before the news broke, Steel City Con shared an update on its official Facebook page.
“Christopher Lambert had to leave the event due to a personal issue. Return time TBD. Photo op canceled,” the post read.
Many fans took to the comments section to share uplifting messages and prayers for Lambert, 69.
“Was wondering what happened but wanted to be respectful and stay out of the way. Really hope everything is ok,” one person wrote.
“I was getting an autograph from him when it happened. I hope he’s going to be okay,” someone else said.
“I really hope he’s going to be ok. I’m glad the con acted so fast. That had to have been scary,” a third comment read.
A short while later, Steel City Con shared an update, announcing that Lambert would be in attendance at today’s event.
“Christopher Lambert will be attending Sunday. He will be there at 11:30 AM. Lisa & Louise Burns will do 12 PM Panel. Also, Karen Gillan will be doing Solos and Duos on Sunday (with Arthur) as well,” the Facebook post read.
Lambert is also scheduled to appear at FAN EXPO in Chicago next week.
