New Jersey champion Bayonne Central Little League faces Connecticut champion Darien Little League today in the opening round of the Little League Baseball Metro Region Tournament.
The winner remains on the path to the Little League Baseball World Series 2026, which begins Aug. 19 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Bayonne enters today’s game in Bristol, Connecticut, after a dominant postseason run that ended with the program’s first New Jersey state championship.
Bayonne became the first Hudson County Little League team to win a NJ state title since 1988 and carries a 10-0 postseason record heading into today’s NJ vs. CT Little League Baseball game. The team has outscored opponents 98-16 during its championship run and now joins champions from Connecticut (Darien Little League), New York (PYA LL of Port Washington) and Rhode Island (Lincoln Little League) in the four-team Metro Region Tournament.
