This past week, there was lots of news coming from a Hallmark 25 years event. They had some fun announcements including the Christmas movie that will kick off the 2026 Countdown to Christmas event. This news plus more (read below) was unveiled.
- The first Countdown to Christmas movie to kick off the 2026 event will be Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story. The film will debut on October 17, to kick things off!
- Kristoffer Polaha and Tamera Mowry-Housley will pair up for the first time in a 2026 Hallmark Christmas film.
- Finally, in 2027 news, Hallmark+ will continue to try and pad its series exclusive titles with Change of Heart. The show reads as being about a character who receives a heart transplant and sees everything differently. The full “about” reads as follows: After a life-changing heart transplant, jaded divorce attorney Charlie Wyatt is called to service the exact opposite: fighting for love in all its forms. – via Hallmark Media
Young Sherlockalready announced its second season and now, more recently, announced new cast. According to Amazon MGM Studios, the second season, which is now in production, has added Oliseries regulars

Peacock is giving The Five-Star Weekend a second season. The show will bring back Jennifer Garner, who also EP-ed the first season. Season one followed Garner as a woman who loses her husband and decides to host an all-girls weekend with different friends from different times in her life.
BritBox unveiled lots of new casting in the production teased as an origin story about Hercule Poirot. The show, which is being called Hercule, has cast the following talent to the ensemble cast: Henry Ashton, James D’Arcy, Calvin Demba, Phil Dunning, Jack Gleeson, Tamsin Greig, James Nesbitt, Guy Remmers, Rebecca Rittenhouse and Mawaan Rizwan. They join the already announced Edward Bluemel who is playing Hercule. The character is, of course, an iconic detective who was created by Agatha Christie.
Disney+ is giving their Australian series The Artful Dodgera third season, but this comes with finality. The show will end with this third season and will bring back returning cast members Thomas Brodie-Sangster, David Thewlis, and Maia Mitchell. The show is a sequel-like tale for the Charles Dickens classic Oliver Twist following a grown-up Jack Dawkins as he tries to outmaneuver his criminal past and the man who made him so, Fagin. Season three will begin filming in the coming months.
