A short animation for the Golden Phantom manga has been released to commemorate the title’s first volume, which was released on July 22. The 30-second animation was animated byKoh Yoshinari (Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk character designer, White Album animation designer, Made in Abyss creature designer) and produced by Takashi Nakame (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 1 co-animation producer, Your Name production desk, The Garden of Words and Witch Watch OP 1 co-production assistant).
Golden Phantom, created by Daiki Yamazaki(Chaos Game), begins with father Shingo Asahina celebrating his daughter’s graduation from middle school at an amusement park. Shingo later finds himself with a bloodied man who claims that the place will become “hell” in 30 minutes, and that he needs to “borrow” Shingo’s body to stop that from happening. The title is also the name of an ability possessed by some individuals in the story.
The manga debuted on February 25 in Kodansha’s Afternoon.
