Inverness Comic Con to return in 2027, organisers Big Glasgow Comic Page confirm after announcing slightly earlier date to avoid clash with Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival

Inverness Comic Con will return to the Highlands again in 2027, delighted organisers have confirmed after their latest “amazing” event in the Highland capital.

People flocked to this year’s con at Inverness Leisure Centre on Saturday – with many getting into the spirit of the occasion with some truly inspired cosplay outfits.

And there was plenty to entertain those who popped along to the convention, which featured a host of specialist traders selling everything from Lego and comic books to collectibles and action figures. There were also retro arcade games to entice gamers young and old..

Organised by Big Glasgow Comic Page (BGCP), the Inverness event has been a highlight of the city’s calendar for several years, pulling in thousands of visitors each time.

So it will come as little surprise to hear that the group has already confirmed a return for 2027.

Taking to its social media channels immediately after the event, BGCP hailed the “amazing” atmosphere and “amazing costumes” before adding that next year’s event will move to the start of July.

Leigh McMahon sent in this snapshot from the fun-filled day.

“We are pleased to announce that BGCP will return to Inverness on Saturday, July 3

“We’ve moved it from August to July to avoid clashing with Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival as we often have people unable to attend due to the two events often clashing.

    “Tickets go on sale soon.”

The North East Rogue Alliance had a Star Wars table with cosplay characters collecting for charity.

And those who don’t want to wait quite that long won’t have to, as BGCP is set to host its first ever Elgin con this coming autumn.

Promising the “ultimate geek day out”, the Elgin Comic Con will be held in Moray Sports Centre in the town’s Linkwood Road on Saturday, October 10 from 10am to 4pm.
