Ortigas Malls introduces Kidtopia
PLAY and learning are coming together with Kidtopia Mini Stations, which are open at GH Mall until Aug. 31 and at Estancia until Sept. 30. This educational and interactive experience is designed to keep kids engaged and also create memories with family. There is a Kid Sensory Station and Mini Competition Stations where kids can play, learn, and make new friends. Shoppers must present a P3,000 single receipt to get access to the Kidtopia Mini Stations. Children will also get a Kids Passport to collect stamps and enjoy rewards with every visit.
SB19 releases new single
FRESH from a debut performance at Lollapalooza in Chicago, SB19 has released their latest single, “LAWLESS.” It marks a new direction for the award-winning quintet which is transitioning from a locally established act to a global supergroup brand. The song makes use of maximalist production and cinematic soundscapes with the goal of fusing P-pop with hip-hop, contemporary pop, Western, and surf rock influences. It is now available on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.

ACTRESS Kathryn Bernardo takes center stage on Cinema One’s Blockbuster Sundays this August with a month-long lineup of her most iconic films, airing every Sunday at 7 p.m. First is Barcelona: A Love Untold about a journey of healing and unexpected love on Aug. 9, then Three Words to Forever, a story about family bond and forgiveness, on Aug. 16. Finally there is a story of an unexpected marriage, Can’t Help Falling in Love, on Aug. 23, and Ms. Bernardo’s blockbuster tale about love, sacrifice, and chasing dreams, Hello, Love, Goodbye, on Aug. 30.
Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor in The End of Oak Street
COMING to Philippine cinemas and IMAX starting Aug. 12 is a thriller starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor. The story starts when a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports a normal family’s neighborhood to someplace unknown. The film also stars Maisy Stella and Christian Convery and is written and directed by David Robert Mitchell.

Stephen Chow brings the action with Kung Fu Soccer

Fitterkarma announces album concert
FILIPINO alternative band fitterkarma will be headlining their first major solo show, kung tayo’y nasa isang horror na pelikula, tiyak ako ang una mong papatayin: The Album Concert, on Sept. 19 at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila. Produced and organized by fitterkarma and GNN, the concert will serve as a launchpad for the band’s debut full-length album, scheduled for release two weeks before the show. The concert also marks fitterkarma’s most ambitious live production to date, featuring an expanded stage design, exclusive concert-only arrangements, and a special collaboration with The Manila String Machine. Known for combining Philippine folklore with a macabre aesthetic and theatrical elements, the band has produced two of the biggest hits of the last two years: “Kalapastangan” and “Pag-ibig ay Kanibalismo II,” both peaking at No. 1 on Spotify Philippines Top 50 and Billboard Philippines Hot 100 charts for multiple weeks. Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil to premiere in September
THE NEWEST Resident Evil story is hitting Philippine cinemas on Sept. 16. Coming from horror director Zach Cregger, known for Barbarian and Weapons, the film aims to reimagine the iconic video game franchise. The film follows Bryan (Austin Abrams), a medical courier who is going through the motions of his routine. As the night progresses, he finds himself in a non-stop race for survival as he encounters monstrous beings out to get him. He co-stars with Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, and Paul Walter Hauser.
