This weekend was a busy one for Charli XCX, who ushered in both her 34th birthday and her Music, Fashion, Film era all in a matter of days. In Chicago for her headlining set at Lollapalooza, the star put on a show full of custom stage looks, high-level production, and a downpour of rain that proved she might just have an in with Mother Nature. But she also hosted a star-studded birthday party.
In new photos shared by XCX herself, the birthday girl can be seen celebrating after her Friday night set. And for the occasion, she donned a slouchy black-and-white micro dress from Empath, made custom with loose short sleeves, a wide neckline, an open back, and the cutest tag detail. She wore the mini with matching boy shorts and a pair of black fishnet tights. She added a studded black belt to the ensemble, before accessorizing with a Chrome Hearts cross pendant and several chunky rings.
Several familiar faces were captured in the background (Oli, and with a drink in hand, XCX blew out the candles of her sleek black birthday cake. “Happy birthday to moi!!!! all i wanna do for the rest of my life is follow my dreamsssssssss <3333,” she wrote on Instagram
As for the stage looks, stylist Chris Horan curated a selection of custom ensembles and vintage pulls alike, including one-of-a-kind dresses from James Walker and Jing Hé and a Galliano trench coat from Aralda Vintage.
As if the performance and birthday party weren’t enough, XCX also made a guest appearance during Lorde’s Thursday night headlining set, joining the “What Was That” artist on stage for their collaborative “Girl, So Confusing” remix.
