The PS5 is getting a pair of JRPG remasters today. A brand-new collection is out now that gives fans the chance to check out two classic games.
Blue Reflection Quartet is available now on the PS Store
Koei Tecmo’s Blue Reflection Quartet, from developer Gust, is out today on the PS Store for $49.99. The game collects four total games, two remastered versions of Blue Reflection and Blue Reflection: Second Light, as well as two new games, a remake of the mobile game Blue Reflection: Sun and a game adaptation of the anime Blue Reflection Ray.
The project is based on the original Blue Reflection, an RPG released in 2017. That game spun off an anime series, as well as a 2021 sequel, the aforementioned Blue Reflection: Second Light. Check out a trailer for the game set below:
The original Blue Reflection follows the story of Hinako Shirai, an injured ballet dancer who is given magical powers allowing her to fight and move freely. After attending school in the daytime, Hinako visits other worlds at night, where she battles against monsters. The anime spin-off featured more of the story from the first game, while Sun and Second Light expanded the story and added new monsters to fight.
In our review of the collection, Tyler Treese called the bundle “a fantastic way to jump into Gust’s underrated JRPG series. All four games are worth checking out, and the two new experiences are welcome additions that make this perfect for die-hard fans and newcomers alike. RPG lovers should definitely give it a chance.”
