Ariz. (13 News) – As part of an Arizona Illustrated, AZPM will be holding a free comic book class for kids at the Wheeler Taft Abbet Sr. Library on July 31
The Arizona Illustrated will feature Frank Powers, a cartoonist who has dedicated his work to teaching children to draw comics and teaching kids to believe in themselves.
Powers hopes to work towards creating his own children’s show one day.
“I think we need to make something of quality that doesn’t solve our problems with magic; it doesn’t solve them with wishes. It solves problems; it teaches kids how to believe in themselves,” Powers said.
Until then, Powers is gearing up for his Arizona Illustrated feature with his Best Frank Forever Cartooning Class.
Powers joined 13 News’ Devyn Shea on Tucson Now to talk about it.
