[DigitalToday reporter Lee Ho-jung (이호정)] Marbex, a blockchain-focused company, said on July 30 it has opened the ‘The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross – Revival of the Commandments’ non-fungible token (NFT) service using the licence for Japanese publisher Kodansha’s globally popular intellectual property (IP) ‘The Seven Deadly Sins’.

‘The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of the Commandments NFT’ is a new project on Marbex’s IP-based experiential platform ‘NFT Adventure’. Set in the original work’s universe, it consists of experiential content in which users obtain various character NFTs and carry out missions themselves.

The original ‘The Seven Deadly Sins’ is a core Kodansha IP that has recorded cumulative global sales of more than 55 million copies. Based on it, Netmarble’s mobile RPG ‘The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross’ has recorded more than 70 million downloads worldwide.

An open-world RPG using the IP, ‘The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin’, is to be released as a cross-platform title for consoles, PC and mobile. It has previously topped the free-to-play charts on the PlayStation Store in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia.

To mark the service launch, Marbex will distribute a total of 20,000 experiential NFTs for free. It will also provide special rewards to the first 4,000 users who, after obtaining the NFT, complete all missions. It will also hold various linked events, including airdrops, and will provide details through its official community.

Marbex plans to continue rolling out the popular IP-based experiential service ‘NFT Adventure’. With its first collaboration project, ‘Koonya Restaurants NFT’, having sold out in a day, it aims to further expand touchpoints with global users through the new project.
