Marvel’s Spider-Man players are in shambles after seeing the new skin added for the webslinger hero in Fortnite Battle Royale.
With this week’s release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Sony and Epic Games have collaborated to bring a new Spider-Man skin to Fortnite.
The new Spider-Man skin is based on his suit appearance in Brand New Day, which Peter Parker first wore at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The suit is a lot more basic compared to suits previously worn by Tom Holland in earlier Spider-Man films, as this one isn’t powered by Stark or Avengers technology, instead hand-crafted by Peter himself.
Despite this, it’s also the suit that feels the most “Spider-Man” of them all. After all, in most Spider-Man stories, Peter is typically the one to design his own suit, hence why it looks more homemade. The suit also returns to the red and blue colours that the character is known for, which seems like a good return to form.
As such, it seems fitting that for the film that returns to the ‘Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man’ vibe, the new Fortnite suit also pays homage to this aspect of the character.
The new Spider-Man: Brand New Day skin will be coming to Fortnite on July 31, 2026. It’ll be added alongside skins for the Incredible Hulk and the Punisher, whose appearances are also based on the movie.
The skins were announced with a new exclusive look at the film posted to Fortnite’s social media pages, showing a short trailer for the film with a small snippet for the skins at the end.
Some fans are asking Insomniac Games to ‘take notes’ regarding its Spider-Man skins
Some fans have pointed out that the skin looks superior in Fortnite than any of the suits which have appeared in Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man series.
One fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter) “Insomniac Games take notes,” followed by an image comparing the Fortnite skin with a suit that was recently added to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, also based on Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
“At least they get the shape of the design right, look at the mask of the Fortnite one, it’s the old one, not the new one,” wrote another person under the replies.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits cinemas on July 31, 2026. It stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, with Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo also starring.
Set four years after Spider-Man: No Way Home, the film deals with Peter Parker protecting the streets of New York City from various threats as the hero Spider-Man, all while investigating a powerful new threat as his superpowers undergo a strange evolution.
In other Marvel news, the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday was released earlier this month, showing our first major look at characters like Steve Rogers, Thor, and Doctor Doom. We maysee a new teaser for the film in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
