X-Men ’97 is a sequel to the classic X-Men: The Animated Series, which aired from 1992 to 1997, and also drew inspiration from the pages of Marvel Comics. Given the strong fan push for its return, this series will be one of the most memorable in recent history. Considering it ended on a cliffhanger in 1997, this revival is all about the sheer enthusiasm the creators and fans have for the series. To celebrate this series, Hasbro is offering a new wave of action figures with retro cardbacks. This wave includes Emma Frost, Morph, Jubilee, Cable, Sunspot, and Logan.
Thank you to Entertainment Earth for sending me the Hasbro Marvel Legends X-MEN ’97 Wave 3 Emma Frost and Logan figures for review.

Emma Frost and Logan are packaged in a retro-style blister card with an anime-style image of the characters, the X-Men ’97 logo on the front, and an image of the figure and the rest of the wave look on the back.

Emma Frost was originally inspired by her appearance in the X-Men ’97 animated series, based on her comic book appearance. This is a mostly white costume, with a tight girdle, long white stockings with a black stripe in the front, long white sleeves, white gloves, and a long white cloak with carved white fur on top, and a red jewel in the front that secures the fur around the neck. The inside of the cloak is painted dark blue, and the carved white fur also has a gray wash at the bottom where it meets the cloak. The cloak also prevents the arm joints from fully moving, but by removing the head the cloak can be removed, allowing for full range of motion in the arms and legs. Also, she is unable to stand on her own because she is wearing high heels. Most female action figures wearing high heels can’t do that, so you’ll need a base or stand to stand her up. It would be nice if Hasbro provided a base with pegs that fit her feet, but unfortunately they don’t.

Emma Frost comes with two head sculpts, both with long blonde hair and different looks, and facial details include neutral, grinning white teeth. The eyes, eyelashes, and lipstick are painted, and the details on the face are beautifully done.

Two interchangeable sets are also included, including a clenched fist and a neutral hand.
Her articulation includes a ball-jointed head and hinged neck, ball-hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball-jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, and hinged rocker ankles.

Logan appears in civilian clothing, including a brown leather jacket with a sculpted white collar, a yellow shirt with black stripes, blue jeans, a black belt with a silver belt buckle, and black shoes, all given realistic sculpted wrinkles.

His head sculpt is very similar, including black sculpted hair, bangs, and eyelashes. Facial details include painted eyes and lips, and this is certainly a great portrait.

Logan includes two sets of interchangeable hands, a closed articulated claw that tends to pop out easily if not pushed firmly back into the slot, a closed fist left hand, and a right neutral hand.

Also included is a deck of cards, which he can hold in his neutral hand, but not very securely.
His articulation includes a ball-jointed head and hinged neck, ball-hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball-jointed torso, swivel waist, ball-jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, and hinged and rocker ankles.

A comparison with existing numbers is shown below.
Overall, Emma Frost and Logan are both great characters, much like their original characters, and are great additions to the series. Emma Fost is arguably the best version of the character ever offered. Be sure to pick up both figures today to add to your X-Men ’97 collection. Entertainment Earth currently has these figures in stock, so buy now and buy more to take advantage of even more savings deals.
