Mattel is bringing the masks, personalities and high-flying action of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide to toy shelves around the globe.

The company announced a multi-year worldwide licensing agreement with WWE during a joint San Diego Comic-Con panel, expanding Mattel’s long-running WWE portfolio to include one of Mexico’s most influential wrestling promotions.

An all-new line of AAA action figures is scheduled to launch in fall 2027, featuring the promotion’s colorful costumes, signature masks and larger-than-life stars. The initial collection will include Psycho Clown, El Hijo del Viking, La Parka and Mr. Iguana.

To mark the announcement, Mattel Creations will release a made-to-order Mr. Iguana figure during San Diego Comic-Con. The figure, complete with the wrestler’s signature iguana companion, will be the first product from the new collection.

“Our partnership with WWE has been an incredible collaboration, and bringing AAA into the fold is the next exciting chapter,” said Nick Karamanos, Mattel’s general manager and head of entertainment partnerships, action figures and preschool entertainment. “For generations, AAA has entertained audiences with its unforgettable characters, signature masks and rich lucha libre tradition.”

Founded by Antonio Peña in 1992, AAA has featured some of lucha libre’s biggest names, including Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio and Penta. WWE announced in August 2025 that it had acquired the promotion in partnership with Mexico-based sports and entertainment holding company Fillip.

“As a cornerstone of Mexico’s lucha libre culture, AAA has built a highly engaged fanbase across Latin America and beyond,” Abby Esrock, WWE’s vice president of revenue, said in a press release. “This collaboration marks an exciting new chapter as we expand WWE’s collectibles portfolio and bring AAA’s iconic stars into Mattel’s industry-leading action figure line.”

The partnership arrives as AAA continues to push beyond its traditional Mexican and Latin American fanbase. Its August 2025 Triplemanía broadcast generated more than 4.3 million views in its first 24 hours and peaked at 614,000 concurrent viewers.

Triplemanía 34 is set to expand to a two-day event this September, with shows planned for Mexico City and Las Vegas.

Mattel said additional figures, release dates and availability details will be announced later. Stay up-to-date with products here.
