Dress Up Darling’s debut live-action series releases new cast images
Ikeda, who plays Sajna, describes her character as “a cute, proud, yet very sincere, strong-willed, loving, kind girl who never rejects others.” On-screen sister Toyoshima (Shinju) revealed that she is already a big fan of the series, adding that the script is an affirmation of the courage it takes to confess one’s feelings and hobbies. Similarly, Shiozaki added that although she had been watching the anime series, it was her first time cosplaying, and it was a very refreshing experience and taught her a lot. Finally, Gojo’s grandfather, played by Yamada, said he had never heard of the series, but his son introduced him to him and he was “immediately drawn in” to the story. She said she fell in love with the dolls at first sight and was drawn into “a world I had never known before,” adding, “I am grateful to have discovered this work.”
The Dress Up Darling live-action series will premiere on October 8, 2024, and it was a pretty surprising announcement considering the anime’s relative silence since season 2 was confirmed. Fans were previously introduced to real-life actors Marin and Gojo in first-look images, with the former promising “glamorous” cosplay, hair, makeup, and costumes.
