Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 4: The Calamity will run for 10 episodes, making it the shortest part of the <a href="https://comicvibe.com/millennium-family-manga-gets-anime/” title=”Millennium Family Manga Gets Anime”>anime’s four-part final arc. Interestingly, the episode count did not come from the anime’s official Japanese channels, but from Hulu, which streams the series in the US.
The first two parts of Thousand-Year Blood War each ran for 13 episodes, while Part 3 had 14. That brings the first three parts to 40 episodes, with The Calamity set to take the complete adaptation to 50 episodes.
Part 4 began on July 25 with its first episode, titled “God of Thunder.” The final part continues the battle against Yhwach and the Quincy as Bleach heads into the closing stages of Tite Kubo’s Thousand-Year Blood War story.
The second episode, titled “Son of Darkness,” will release on August 1.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War began airing in 2022, returning the anime more than a decade after the original Bleach TV series ended in 2012. It adapts the manga’s final major arc, which was never covered by the original anime.
The Calamity will bring that adaptation to its conclusion, although its shorter 10-episode run does not necessarily mean there will be less to see. The Thousand-Year Blood War anime has previously expanded and changed parts of the manga with involvement from Kubo, including material that was not present in the original serialisation.
