The Lenovo Legion C700 is set to launch in August 2026, and so far, the company has confirmed that it will be a “cloud” gaming handheld. That is, it won’t be running Windows or Linux out of the box, and instead, it could ship as an Android device.

Lenovo has also confirmed that the Legion C700 will feature a thin and lightweight build. Specifically, the company claims that the gaming handheld is as thin as 14.9mm, while it’s said to weigh 556 grams (about 1.25lbs). This means it will be lighter than the Go S and ROG Ally X.

Now, through a brand-new teaser, Lenovo has shared that the Legion C700 will come with a streaming dongle. Paired with a companion Windows software, this USB stick is said to allow the upcoming handheld to stream games from a PC with a latency as low as 10ms.

It’s worth noting that streaming PC games and running them natively on a device aren’t the same thing (Legion GO S with Z1 Extreme curr. $1,166.99 on Lenovo). Lenovo is essentially offering a first-party hardware-backed solution that’s similar to a Moonlight and Sunshine setup, for example.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that the “cloud” gaming handheld will not be able to run any PC games natively. If it comes with a capable SoC and runs Android, with emulators such as GameHub and GameNative, the Legion C700 could run many Windows games with respectable frame rates.

There’s still no concrete word on the launch date or the price of the gaming handheld. However, given that Lenovo has partnered with Tencent Start for the Legion C700, the device is less likely to receive a wide global launch.
