What’s the difference between Xemu and Xbox 360 backward compatibility?
Xbox 360 backward compatibility was Microsoft’s own official feature, limited to a selection of titles the company specifically enabled and running only on Xbox 360 hardware, which is itself now discontinued and aging out of the used market. Xemu is a community-built emulator that runs on current PCs, Macs, and Linux machines, covers a much larger slice of the library at around 80% tested playable, and keeps improving with regular updates rather than being frozen at whatever Microsoft shipped.
Can Xemu play burned or backup discs?
Xemu doesn’t read physical discs directly at all, burned or otherwise. Every game has to be converted into the XISO file format covered in Step 9, regardless of whether theelf. What matters legally and practically is that the disc you’re dumping from is one you own
