Highlights
- ABEMA is streaming the complete BLEACHTV anime for free in Japan from July 25.
- The campaign coincides with the premiere of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity, the fourth and concluding cour that completes the TV anime.
- While the free marathon is exclusive to Japan, The Calamity will stream internationally across multiple platforms.
ABEMA is making the entire BLEACHTV anime available for free streaming in Japan as the franchise enters its final television chapter. The limited-time initiative begins on July 25 with the launch of a dedicated BLEACH channel and will air daily until August 15.
ABEMA will stream all episodes from the original 2004 series through BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3. It marks ABEMA’s first standalone channel devoted to the franchise.
The free BLEACHcampaign coincides with the television premiere of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity, the fourth and final cour of the Thousand-Year Blood War (TYBW) anime.
The new season debuts on July 25, the same day of the free streaming start. The Calamity premieres on the day at 11 pm JST on the TV Tokyo network and affiliated Japanese broadcasters. Beginning July 30, ABEMA will stream each new episode free for one week after release.
Why Does TYBW – The Calamity Cour Matter for the Bleach Franchise?
The Calamity closes out the anime adaptation of Tite Kubo’s manga, which started its run in 2001 on Weekly Shonen Jump. The BLEACHfranchise has sold more than 130M copies in cumulative print circulation since then.
The TV anime debuted in October 2004 and produced more than 360 episodes and four feature films before going on hiatus in 2012. BLEACHreturned with the TYBW arc in October 2022, dividing the arc into four consecutive parts.
Following three earlier cours, the closing chapter, Calamity, will resolve a storyline shonen fans have waited roughly a decade to see animated.
The free catalog is not a global offering. It is ABEMA’s Japan-only service, designed to let viewers revisit the franchise before its conclusion. A similar initiative was taken by the anime’s official YouTube channel, when it distributed BLEACH “THE STORIES
” in February, giving fans free streaming prior to the release.
BLEACH: TYBW– The Calamityfinal cour streaming is beginning on July 25 across multiple services, including Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, U-NEXT, and ABEMA in Japan. Outside Japan, the finale streams on Hulu, Disney+, JioHotstar, and Anime Times on Prime Video, depending on the region.
