SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — “American Dad” fans at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday got an exclusive first look at the upcoming Season 21 that is currently in production and a first-look at one of the finale episodes in the current season that are set to air in September. Plus, the actors who voice Steve and Klaus performed a live table reading.
Saturday afternoon panels in the several-thousand-seat Ballroom 20 were lined with adult animated comedies – “Futurama,” a packed “The Simpsons” panel, and “American Dad,” ending with “Family Guy.”

Announced at “The Simpsons” panel, the new movie is coming Labor Day of 2027. Lucky fans that asked questions during the Q&A got signed character drawings.
At the “American Dad” panel, not only did fans get a first look at the final two “American Dad” episodes that will finish the current season, airing in September, but it was announced season 21 is coming in 2027. Fans were shown exclusive clips from the new season, some still unfinished and in black-and-white sketches.
But that’s not all. The show creators revealed American Dad Funko Pops are coming in 2027.
New ‘Rick and Morty’ spinoff series announced at Comic-Con panel
Dee Bradley Baker (Klaus), Steven Anita Smith (Scott Grimes), writers Nic Wegener, Zack Rosenblatt, and Parker Deay (who is also the voice actor for the character who says Bazooka Sharks) were at the panel.
One of the finale episodes airing this fall will mark “American Dad’s” 400th episode.

Also announced, an episode airing Sept. 13 will be an anthology with three separate stories. Announced at the panel, each act will follow a different story and clips were shown exclusively to fans ahead of its premiere that show Roger alone on Mars surrounded by graves that appear to be made and dug by him.

Fans also got a special treat as they heard Grimes and Baker sing familiar favorites from past episodes during the live table reading of fan favorite episodes to a cheering crowd.
