It’s that time of year again. Ahead of the launch of Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel Studios is set to return to Hall H for its annual San Diego Comic-Con panel and presentation, teasing longtime fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe what what’s to come. And the excitement is at an all-time high.
The studio already surprised fans with the early release of the Avengers: Doomsday trailer earlier this week (which was very much expected to happen at SDCC) and there’s also next week’s larger-than-life release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day to take into account as well. But between both of those things lies Marvel’s long-awaited SDCC panel. And some major things are expected from it. Here’s when you can prepare to keep-up-to-date.
When does the Marvel Comic-Con panel start?
Marvel Studios’ San Diego Comic-Con panel takes place in Hall H on Saturday, July 25, at 5:30 pm PT. For other time zones in the US, that’s 8:30 pm ET, 6:30 p.m. MT, and 7:30 p.m. CT. Of course, even though the event is taking place in the US, it will be a global event for Marvel fans who will be keeping up to date with the announcements throughout the evening.

How long is the Marvel SDCC panel?
The Marvel Studios San Diego Comic-Con has a runtime of one hour. Kevin Feige is expected to take to the stage first before ushering in the casts and crews of some of Marvel’s biggest upcoming titles. As we have seen in the past with these events, that means that there will be a pretty long runtime needed.
That all being said, Avengers: Doomsday is expected to take the main event slot. Whether that means the MCU panel will open with the upcoming movie or close with it remains to be seen. But given that it’s the big film coming at the end of this year, it’s pretty fair to say that it will be the latter.
Either way, when things kick off tonight, clear your calendar for a full hour!
Is the Marvel SDCC panel available to watch?
If you’re hoping to watch Marvel Studios’ long-awaited return to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con, you’ll be annoyed to know that the event won’t be being livestreamed anywhere. That’s not SDCC’s policy, but it doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to keep up with the announcements (or see the footage shortly after each announcement is made) as those will surface online.
In fact, Bam Smack Pow will be in attendance at San Diego Comic-Con, so make sure you keep up with our X (Twitter) feeds as we will be tweeting live updates from the event as and when Kevin Feige makes them. It’s expected to be a big one so keep up to date with us to hear it all first.
Announcements to expect from Marvel’s SDCC panel
Rumor has it that this is going to be one of Marvel Studios’ biggest panels in San Diego Comic-Con history. Considering that this is their almighty return to Hall H after uncharacteristically skipping last year, that’s highly likely. And speaking of last year, the reason that they skipped it will be taking center stage as audiences are preparing to see a panel revolving around Avengers: Doomsday.
The movie is coming out this December and it kicks off the final chapter of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga, so it would make sense that it takes center stage. With that in mind, fans are preparing to see Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh and so many more of the film’s stars join Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and directors Joe and Anthony Russo on stage.
A new trailer isn’t expected as Marvel unveiled the first of those earlier this week, but there are rumors of the audience getting to see brand new exclusive footage from the film (perhaps a scene or two) that won’t be released online. It’s Marvel’s way of giving something exclusive to the fans who came out to the event. And you know that the detailed descriptions of anything shown in Hall H will likely surface online anyway.
That aside, reports say that Marvel will also be spotlighting other films. According to one report, there will be 397 reserved seats for Marvel guests and 30+ actors will appear. Moreover, Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s Sadie Sink and Michael Mando, as well as Denzel Washington – who is expected to appear in Black Panther 3 – have all been spotted in San Diego.

While there were initial reports that an X-Men cast announcement could come tonight, those have gotten less likely over time, with the belief being that Marvel might officially start crafting its Mutants Era around the X-Men movie – therefore officially confirming all of the projects that had only been vaguely reported on thus far.
With that in mind, we might get title cards and updates regarding the statuses of some beloved long-awaited movies. And perhaps even an appearance from some of those cast members. The question is: How much detail would each of those announcements involve?
It’s the biggest night in Marvel’s calendar each and every year and it’s clear that we can say the same for the MCU fans too. San Diego Comic-Con never fails to disappoint and we’re in for one heck fo a ride this year too now that Marvel Studios is officially back!
