July 24 (UPI) — Prime Video is giving a glimpse of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3.
The streaming service shared a teaser trailer for the season Friday at San Diego Comic-Con.
The Rings of Power is a fantasy drama inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. The show takes place thousands of years before the events of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Season 3 sees Sauron become the Dark Lord of Mordor as he forges the One Ring of power.
“Now, all the free peoples of Middle-earth — Dwarves, Elves, Men, and Wizards alike — must find a way to come together, in a race against time to prevent Sauron from achieving his goal of utter domination of all life,” an official synopsis reads.
The cast includes Charlie Vickers as Sauron, Morfydd Clark as Galadriel, Robert Aramayo as Elrond, Benjamin Walker as Gil-galad, Ismael Cruz Cordova as Arondir, Markella Kavenagh as Nori, Daniel Weyman as Gandalf and Owain Arthur as Durin IV.
In addition, Eddie Marsan joins the cast as Thrain, Andrew Richardson as Anarion, Adam Young as Marnukh, Jamie Campbell Bower as Celeborn, Zubin Varla as Khamul the Easterling, with Simon Pegg as the voice of the Balrog.
Season 3 will have a four-episode premiere Nov. 11 on Prime Video, with Episodes 5 and 6 to release Nov. 18. The final two episodes will start streaming Nov. 25.
