“Fortnite” shared a collaboration with one of the most popular horror movies this year, “Obsession,” but it may not be the crossover that fans are hoping for.
‘Fortnite’ Releases ‘The Obsession’ Edit
Epic Games produced a new trailer titled “The Obsession is Real” in partnership with Focus Features and Blumhouse. The clip recuts scenes from “Obsession” and drops “Fortnite” Sprites directly into the footage, focusing the edit on Michael Johnston’s character, Bear.
Fortnite’s official account shared the trailer on X earlier today, and the video ends with a promotion pointing viewers toward streaming “Obsession.”
While the crossover has generated buzz, Epic Games has not confirmed any actual in-game cosmetics tied to the film, meaning this currently functions as a cross-promotional advertisement rather than a formal collaboration announcement.
Epic and “Fortnite” have not confirmed anything beyond what is coming from this “Obsession” crossover with the game, with only several reworked items and entities teased from the trailer.
‘Obsession’ Crossover Is Not What You’re Hoping For
Rather than keeping Nikki Freeman, played by Inde Navarrette, front and center the way she appears in the actual film, the trailer swaps her out almost entirely with a Zero Point Sprite.
The Sprite appears in photographs where Nikki would normally be shown and lingers in the background throughout several key scenes from the movie, including Bear’s dramatic “I love you” moment, which is instead directed at the Sprite watching over him.
The Zero Point Sprite is considered one of the hardest Sprites to find in “Fortnite” Chapter 7 Season 3, with such a low spawn rate that many players end up trading for it rather than finding one naturally.
The trailer plays on that scarcity, framing the Sprite’s presence in “Obsession” as a nod to just how badly players want to track one down themselves.
‘One Llama Luck’ Wish, No Nikki or Bear Skins

One Llama Luck
Instead of the film’s iconic One Wish Willow, Bear’s character is shown opening a “One Llama Luck” box in the trailer, a direct reference to Fortnite’s Llama mascot.
Rather than wishing for Nikki’s love as he does in the actual movie, Bear wishes for the Zero Point Sprite instead, tying the entire bit back to the game’s current Sprite collecting trend.
No Nikki, Bear, Sarah, or Ian skins were teased anywhere in the trailer, and Epic Games has not confirmed whether a full crossover bringing actual “Obsession” cosmetics to “Fortnite” is in development.
Fans have speculated a proper collaboration could land during “Fortnitemares 2026,” Epic’s annual Halloween season event, especially since last year’s lineup leaned heavily on horror titles like “The Black Phone,” “Scream,” and “Terrifier.”
The timing is complicated by the upcoming “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” skin, which is next in line for a major crossover push, leaving limited room for an immediate “Obsession” tie-in.
That being said, the only confirmed movie in-game collaboration for “Fortnite” now is Epic Games’ collaboration with Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” film, featuring the skins of Odysseus and King Agamemnon with a special discounted bundle available now.
