Warner Bros. announces DCKO, 2v2 fighting game starring Batman, Superman, and more launching in 2027
It’s not Injustice 3, but it’ll do.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is officially making an all-new DC Comics fighting game, and no–it’s not Injustice 3. This week, developer Drop Fake announced DCKO, a 2v2 tag team fighting game that stars popular superheroes from the pages of DC Comics, like Superman, John Constantine, Wonder Woman, and more.
What is DCKO?
DCKO is a fighting game made for mobile devices, built by studio Drop Fake–a new studio made up of former Kabam (Marvel Contest of Champions) developers. In DCKO, players can assemble teams of DC superheroes and villains to chain combos and perform tactical assists. It looks like players will be able to swap between characters on the fly to execute specific abilities, which is typical of the tag team genre.
The game will feature 2v2 tag team battles in a swathe of different modes, including PvE missions. The PvE mode will allow players to play through a story campaign that features enemies like Ra’s al Ghul’s League of Assassins, Amazo’s robot army, and the demon hordes of Trigon.
The game’s PvP multiplayer mode will allow players to climb leaderboards and customise their roster’s playstyle by unlocking specific abilities and stat boosts. Currency and XP gained in PvE modes can be used to upgrade characters, and thus affect their performance in PvP modes. The game will also feature unlockable cosmetics for the playable cast.
As for the game’s maps, Themiscyra, the Batcave, and the Lazarus Pits have been confirmed for the game. Interestingly, the game also shares a name with the recent DC Comics crossover event DC K.O., but the two don’t appear to share any connections otherwise.
DCKO playable characters
While the game’s entire playable roster has not been confirmed yet, the following characters have at least been spotted in the trailer above and official key art:
- Superman
- Batman
- Robin
- Wonder Woman
- John Constantine
- Poison Ivy
- Harley Quinn
- Blue Beetle
- Nightwing
- Cyborg
- Green Lantern
- Lex Luthor
- Starfire
- Catwoman
- Bane
- Doomsday
DCKO is launching on iOS and Android devices in 2027, and is now available for pre-registration.
