SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (WRGB) —The Electric City Comic Con returned to Schenectady this weekend, bringing with it regional artists, writers, interactive programs and the always-popular cosplay contest.

Now a piece of Capital Region lore is now a part of comic book history?

There is now a comic called “The Bridge That Eats Trucks,” inspired by Glenville’s infamous low-clearance railroad bridge.

“I wanted to do a local book with some of the other local artists that I had met over the years, and my wife was actually the one that was like, ‘Oh, you guys should do a book about the bridge,'” said Douglas Arthur, the book’s author. “I live about a mile from the Glenville bridge, so I sat on it for a little while because I’m like, ‘Who’s going to buy a book about the bridge?’ As it turned out, a lot of people.”

You can find the comic at Weird-O Comics and Collectibles, Bear and Bird Boutique, along with a few other local comic book stores throughout the Capital Region.
