Kadokawa The new Wordless World Comic Contest, a competition to find comics without speech bubbles or letters, was announced Friday. The competition is open to entrants from all over the world and the “wordless” approach is designed to allow all applicants regardless of language. The winner may have the opportunity to have his manga serialized in Japan.
Applicants can register from Friday to February 28 at 11:59 pm (Japan Standard Time). Results will be announced in April 2025. Kotone Ranmaru (your name.), Kurata Minoji (Pharmacist’s Diary), and Nagakura Ho (wolf and spice) will review the winning entries.
There are two categories. The first is the Themed Comic Award, which requires contestants to create a story about the fictional character Don Quixote. Works may use original stories and settings, as long as they relate to Don Quixote. The second is the Original Comic Award category, which is suitable for any story and genre. Entries can be in monochrome or color and can range from 8 to 60 pages.

Winners will also be invited to attend the awards ceremony and visit the editorial office. First prize in each category will receive $10,000. The prize for second place is $5,000 and the prize for third place is $3,000.
