Pete Crow-Armstrong is one of us
Sure, he is a two-time MLB All-Star, Gold Glove center fielder, and on pace for another 30-30 season. That makes him verydifferent from us. But he bleeds the same way we bleed for the Chicago Bears. I love that for him — and for us
Pete Crow-Armstrong Shares His Bears Fandom at the MLB All-Star Game
During an in-game interview segment late in the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong dove deep into his Bears fandom
You’ve gotta watch this video:
More from PCA, who had such a great response to MLB on FOX play-by-play voice Joe Davis’ question about whether he has caught “Bears fever” during the top of the eighth inning: “Oh yeah. Big time. I went to five games last year, went to every playoff game. It was a blast, man. They’re fun to watch.”
And this quote about how his Bears fandom was passed down by his dad:
“He was a big Bears fan, so I grew up a huge fan. Devin Hester was my guy. I loved Matt Forte. I still watch Devin Hester highlights to this day. Big Bears fan through and through.”
I am a sucker for fandom stories. PCA gets bonus points for the Devin Hester and Matt Forte mentions. In quiet moments, I think about the kinds of numbers Forte would put up as a featured back in Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson’s offense. As for Hester, he is on my Bears Mount Rushmore and is my favorite player. It doesn’t surprise me that Pete Crow-Armstrong still watches Hester highlights because Istill watch Hester highlights. Nothing passes the time on a rainy day or a cold and sad winter’s night like firing up a Hester highlight package.

I got a kick out of the MLB All-Star broadcast asking Pete Crow-Armstrong about the Bears. That was a fun bit of subtle cross-promotion from the FOX broadcast crew, whose network is currently scheduled to have eight Bears games this season — including the first two regular-season games of the 2026 campaign. As he metnioned on the broadcast, PCA was at both Bears playoff games. Plus, he has been spotted palling around with Bears quarterback Caleb Williams. The mutual admiration between the two makes me feel good about the Chicago sports scene’s future.
And for more on that, you can read teammate Tony Andracki’s piece on how advice from Chicago’s QB1 has helped PCA take his game to another level
