Nigeria’s push to harness technology for economic diversification will take centre stage as the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Udeh, delivers the keynote address at the Enugu Gaming Conference (EGC) 2026

The minister, who has been confirmed as the Special Guest of Honour, is expected to outline the Federal Government’s vision for leveraging innovation, indigenous technology and digital entrepreneurship to unlock opportunities in Nigeria’s fast-growing gaming and digital economy

The two-day conference, scheduled for July 29 and 30 at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Enugu, will convene policymakers, regulators, gaming operators, technology innovators, investors, legal experts and entrepreneurs to chart a sustainable path for the country’s iGaming industry

Organised by Events Arcade Solutions Limited in partnership with the Enugu State Gaming and Lotteries Commission (ESGC), the conference is themed: “Code, Capital and Compliance: Unlocking Nigeria’s iGaming Tech Opportunity.”

Organisers said the minister’s participation signals increasing government recognition of gaming technology as a strategic component of Nigeria’s digital economy and a potential driver of job creation, innovation and foreign investment

Dr. Udeh is expected to speak on how science, technology and innovation can accelerate economic growth, strengthen local technology development and position Nigeria as a continental hub for emerging digital industries

The conference will also feature prominent industry leaders, including Chief Executive Officer of the African iGaming Alliance, Peter Kesitilwe, who will lead the Government-Industry Roundtable; Founder of iGaming Afrika, Kenya, Jeremiah Maangi; and Co-founder of Isoftnova Technologies Limited, Kelani Opeyemi Mercy, alongside regulators, fintech executives, gaming technology developers, investors, legal practitioners and startup founders

Speaking ahead of the event, Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Enugu State Gaming and Lotteries Commission, Prince Arinze Arum, said the minister’s acceptance of the invitation reflects growing confidence in the conference as a platform for shaping the future of Nigeria’s gaming technology ecosystem

He noted that the event would strengthen collaboration between government and the private sector while promoting innovation, responsible regulation and investment in the industry

According to Arum, advances in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software engineering, digital payments, regulatory technology and data analytics are redefining the gaming industry, making innovation a critical factor for competitiveness

The conference will feature keynote presentations, executive panel discussions, regulatory roundtables, technical masterclasses, exhibitions, strategic networking sessions and a Gaming Tech Startup Showcase highlighting innovative solutions in gaming software, fraud prevention, responsible gaming and digital payment technologies

Participants are expected from government agencies, gaming regulatory authorities, technology companies, financial institutions, academia, development organisations, venture capital firms and other stakeholders across Africa, reinforcing Enugu’s growing reputation as a destination for technology, investment and digital policy dialogue
