The Akane-banashi release schedule is fairly straightforward to follow. The manga by writer Yuki Suenaga and illustrator Takamasa Moue has been highly successful both with critics and with fans and has become a staple of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since it launched in 2022. Now that the anime adaptation has proven a hit as well, now is the perfect time to get caught up with our Akane-banashi release schedule

How often do new Akane-banashi chapters come out?

New chapters of Akane-banashi are usually released every week in Weekly Shonen Jump. There are occasional breaks and hiatuses, typically to allow the creators to avoid burnout. The series is unusual in shonen manga in that it stars a young woman and isn’t particularly action-oriented. It follows Akane as she tries to rise through the ranks of rakugo both out of a love of performing and to avenge her disgraced father

When is the next Akane-banashi manga chapter out?

The next chapter of the Akane-banashi manga is Chapter 215, which should be published on July 19, 2026. The manga is released on a weekly basis, which makes it fairly easy to know when the next chapter is coming out. The most recent chapter, Akane-banashi 214, was released on July 12, 2026

The upcoming Akane-banashi release schedule is:

    • Akane-banashi manga chapter 215 release date:July 19. 2026
    • Akane-banashi manga chapter 216 release date:July 26. 2026
    • Akane-banashi manga chapter 217 release date:August 2. 2026

What time do new Akane-banashi manga chapters come out?

Akane-banashi manga chapters are typically released at around 11 am EST on Sundays, which is when issues of Weekly Shonen Jump are released in Japan. Thanks to the magic of time zones, the English-speaking parts of the world get new chapters of Akane-banashi earlier than in Japan

Where can I read the Akane-banashi manga?

You can read every chapter of the Akane-banashi manga on the Shonen Jump app or on the VIZ Media website.New chapters are typically uploaded in English at the same time that they are released in Japan, so you don’t have to worry about spoilers at all

    What is the Akane-banashi story?

The Akane-banashi manga is about a young woman named Akane who enters the rokugo industry straight out of high school. She does this both out of a genuine love of the art form as well as a need to avenge her father, who was disgraced and banned from the Arakawa School of rokugo when she was a child. The best way to describe it is all the intensity of a sports manga but focused on a niche form of Japanese storytelling

Why is Akane-banashi only on YouTube?

The Akane-banashi anime is free to stream on YouTube in North America, but no one on the production committee has ever commented about why they made that decision. While in many areas the show is streaming on Netflix, it was seen as odd that Akane-banashi was free to stream in the US. The reason is likely that it helped to give the show a wider audience since it has a very unusual, niche subject matter in rokugo

Is the Akane-banashi anime getting a second season?

The Akane-banashi anime is getting a second season, with a release date of January 2027. That means that there will be less than one year since the first season ended before we get to see the next part of the story, which is very exciting for many fans who hate waiting. It hasn’t been confirmed if the second season will still be free to stream on YouTube or if someone like Crunchyroll will pick up the streaming rights in the US

    Is Akane-banashi going to end?

There has been no announced ending for the Akane-banashi manga. The series started in 2022 and has been going steadily for several years now. It is expected that it will end eventually, but so far, there has been no announced ending to the series
