It was previously revealed that Michael Waldron would write the script for Marvel’s Nova. According to the latest report, Waldron is also expected to direct the feature if the script moves forward. However, neither Marvel Studios nor Waldron’s representative commented on the report
In 2022, Marvel Studios planned to adapt the comic into a TV series based on a script by Sabir Pirzada. Pirzada had previously written Marvel’s Moon Knight. In February 2023, it was reported that Nova would become a Disney+ series. However, this idea was shelved in 2025. News that the project was moving forward emerged after Waldron’s Writers Guild of America West directory listed him as the writer of Nova
The writer is not new to the franchise, having previously worked on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Avengers: Doomsday, and Secret Wars. Additionally, he co-created and wrote Chad Powers alongside Glen Powell. He also stated that Powell would be perfect for the role of Richard Rider/Nova
