Roblox Animal Hospital hits 1.2 million CCU with major update featuring new character and items
The Animal Hospital update introduced a new lore character Liz, several new items, and a visual overhaul to many Classes
Animal Hospital on Roblox has received a major update, bringing several notable additions to the game. With it, Animal Hospital recorded a staggering new milestone, surpassing 1.2 million concurrent users (CCU) shortly after the update went live–nearly doubling its previous peak. While there are not many obvious changes at first, players will begin to notice new additions as they progress through their shifts
The highlight of the update is a new character, Liz, who expands the narrative surrounding the mysterious Animal Corporation and its suspicious activities. There are also new interactions with the Stalker, several new items, and visual reworks for multiple Classes
Who is Liz in Animal Hospital?
Liz, whose full name is Lisbeth, is a journalist who was fired from the Animal Corporation’s news channel after uncovering a “huge scoop” that the company appears to be trying to bury. Determined to uncover the truth, she asks for your help
How to complete Liz’s quest in Animal Hospital
On Shift 11, Liz enters the hospital, introduces herself, and hands you her camera, which would be positioned in front of the reception desk, facing the area where patients check in. She tasks you with photographing specific patients, so be sure to remember the names she gives you
When the target patient arrives, simply interact with Liz’s camera to take their photograph, which will produce a polaroid image of the anomalous patient. Liz will later return to task you with more patients to photograph. During these encounters, she shares her suspicions about Animal Hospital and the Animal Corporation, saying:
“I think all these anomalies are not a coincidence. Something strange is going on and I’m doing an investigation. And everything led me to this hospital.”
She later reveals:
“Each patient you have been taking photos of has something in common–they have come here before. Each patient visits the hospital multiple times across weeks. Even before you worked here, they were coming.”
After helping her, Liz rewards you with a Chocolate, a valuable item that significantly restores your Sanity. Once you photograph the final patient, she thanks you and reveals her intention to publish her findings
“They didn’t fire me because it was fake… they fired me because it was true.”
Be careful not to make the same mistake as many other players by wasting a photograph. You are given only one shot for each patient. If you take the picture without the correct patient in frame, Liz will return, scold you for wasting the photograph, and take back her camera, causing the mission to fail. If this happens, you’ll need to restart the game and work your way back to Shift 11 to interact with her again
What new items are in Animal Hospital?
The update also introduces several new items that can be obtained during your shift
The Scanner allows you to scan patients to determine whether they are anomalies. It has a 120-second cooldown between uses and displays different colours depending on the result: green for a normal patient, red for an anomaly, and yellow if no patient is detected. The Scanner can be purchased from the Supplies Shop for $150 and is also a starting item for the Secret Agent Class
Another new item is the Deployable Camera, which functions similarly to the CCTV cameras and can be placed anywhere in the hospital. It can be purchased from the Supplies Shop for $600 and is available as a starting item for the Security Class at Level 2 and above
Class visual reworks
The update also overhauls the appearances of Doctor Harlow and several Classes
The most noticeable redesign is the Secretary Class, which now features a new updo hairstyle and a purple skin tone. The original Secretary appearance is now available as a skin for 12 Animal Coins
The Surgeon has received a particularly dramatic redesign, sporting a bright red skin tone, orange ears, and a new outfit. The Paramedic Class now features new ears, a Christmas-green jumper, blue gloves, and a redesigned face mask. Similar visual updates have also been applied to the Psychologist, Doctor, Security, Head Nurse, and Secret Agent Classes–with its original design available as a “classic skin” purchase
On top of the visual changes, the Robux-exclusive Secret Agent Class has been buffed with an additional starting item, receiving a Scanner that can detect anomalies. Meanwhile, the Security Class becomes more valuable as it levels up, with a Deployable Camera now provided as a starting item at Levels 2 and 3
Other additions include new anomaly animations, updated 2D visuals for several items, and a range of general bug fixes and gameplay improvements. The Stalker anomaly can now also check in at reception, handing over a distorted form before mysteriously disappearing
