The Rolling Stones are bringing more than 60 years of rock history into the gaming world with the launch of an immersive Roblox experience tied to the release of their new album, Foreign Tongues. The interactive adventure invites fans to journey through the band’s legendary career while unlocking rewards, music, and exclusive virtual and physical merchandise.
A Journey Through Six Decades of The Rolling Stones’ Rock History
Developed by members of Roblox’s global creator community, the experience takes players through different eras of The Rolling Stones’ career.
Roblox head of music partnership Jessica Meehan said in a statement, “The Rolling Stones’ legacy has inspired multiple generations of fans, and we’re thrilled to help bring that story to life for a whole new generation on Roblox. From exploring decades of music history to collaborating with creators whose virtual designs become physical merch, this experience brings together music, creativity, and commerce in a way that’s only possible on Roblox.”
Throughout the game, fans work together to locate and shatter colorful crystals inspired by the band’s 2023 album Hackney Diamonds. Each completed challenge powers up the iconic tongue-and-lips logo, unlocking the next chapter of the band’s history while classic Rolling Stones songs soundtrack the gameplay.
Community Gameplay
The experience culminates in a global interactive performance. From July 17 to July 19, players can take part in a finale event with the band hosting a final show.
Roblox also partnered with established creators to redesign the band’s famous tongue-and-lips logo into exclusive digital collectibles. Fans can even purchase limited-edition co-branded physical merchandise directly through an in-game Shopify integration that connects to The Rolling Stones’ online store.
One Roblox creator, WhoseTrade, said in a statement, “Collaborating with The Rolling Stones and being trusted to reinterpret something as iconic as the Hot Lips logo was something I never imagined I’d get to do. Getting to work alongside other creators and see our ideas come to life across both the physical and digital worlds is what makes Roblox such a special community of talented creators and opportunity.”
Timed With the Release of ‘Foreign Tongues’
The Roblox experience will roll out Friday, July 10, alongside Foreign Tongues, The Rolling Stones’ 25th studio album. The 14-track record follows the Grammy Award-winning Hackney Diamonds and features guest appearances from Paul McCartney, Robert Smith of The Cure, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Steve Winwood.
