For four seasons, the horror/sci-fi series From, filmed in Nova Scotia, has gained a devoted following of fans, called the “FROMily.” Now, after the first three seasons landed on Netflix in the U.S., Americans can’t get enough of the show, which topped the Nielsen streaming charts with 1.65 billion minutes of viewing the week of Oct. 19, the largest weekly total for any acquired series this year.
Just behind Fromis the Netflix show The Diplomat, with viewership hitting 1.19 billion minutes in the same week. All three seasons of From are currently among the Top 10 shows on Netflix in the U.S.
From has been available on MGM+ in the U.S. and Paramount+ in Canada. But on Nov. 24, the series will also be available on the Canadian Netflix site.
What is ‘From’ about
Created by John Griffin, Fromis set in a mysterious town that traps anyone who enters. People try to drive out, but all roads lead back to the same place.
Throughout the series, we see the town’s residents trying to uncover its secrets and solve the puzzle of how to escape. But first, they have to survive while they’re surrounded by a forest with creatures that terrorize them at night.
The show is led by the fantastic Harold Perrineau (Lost, Romeo + Juliet, The Matrix), but the series really thrives on the strength of the ensemble, which features brilliant Canadian actors, including Elizabeth “Liz” Saunders, Scott McCord, Pegah Ghafoori, Corteon Moore, Avery Konrad, Chloe Van Landschoot, David Alpay, Hannah Cheramy, Ricky He and Robert Joy.
‘From’ will end with Season 5
Despite the recent surge in success for the show, Season 5 will be the end of the series.
“We are wildly excited to announce that we’ve officially begun work on Season 5. Which means we will get the chance to see our story to its conclusion. Which means <a href="https://comicvibe.com/amy-schumer-questions-why-moms-in-animated-movies-have-to-look-like-porn-stars/” title=”Amy Schumer Questions Why Moms in Animated Movies ‘Have to Look Like Porn Stars’”>questions will be answered. Answers will be questioned. And there will surely be a cascade of tears and terrors in between,” a joint statement from Griffin, showrunner Jeff Pinkner, and director Jack Bender, released April 15, reads.
“We are thankful for the support of our friends and partners at MGM+. And we are grateful beyond measure for the mad passion of our entire FROMily. We’re excited to share season 4 with you and hope it whets your appetite for what’s to come.”
Shortly after the announcement, Perrineau shared his thoughts on the show’s ending with Yahoo Canada.
“I don’t want it to end, because I’m enjoying it. I’m enjoying figuring it out and doing the work. I’m enjoying every bit of it,” he said. “But I know that there’s always a point beyond which you shouldn’t go, and so I’m really glad it’s going to go to that place.”

Saunders described the “absolutely fantastic” experience she’s had connecting with fans who love the show.
“I wasn’t expecting it, partly because I’ve never been in a situation on a show where I’m that regular for that many seasons, but they’re so engaged. Their imaginations are always going, and I just love that,” Saunders said. “There’s the occasional thing that I go, ‘I didn’t appreciate that comment,’ but I think that’s unfortunately part of the game. But actually, mostly, From fans don’t make comments that you’re like, ‘Why did you have to say that?’ Overwhelmingly, it’s been so positive, and I will miss that.”
“I’ll be the luckiest woman alive if I get a gig right after this that has the same kind of engagement and the same kind of fantastic cast and crew.”
