Cinépolis India today announced a collaboration with Red Chillies Entertainment for King, under which the co-branded movie promo of Shah Rukh Khan’s film plays at Cinépolis cinemas with a message from the star about FOOVIES, the Cinépolis platform that brings food and movies together. The co-branded promo goes up across Cinépolis cinemas in 41 cities from 5th November, in the run-up to the film’s release on 24 December 2026. King is directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. Shah Rukh Khan leads a cast that includes Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and Suhana Khan. The film releases on 24 December 2026, in Christmas week.
Devang Sampat, Managing Director, Cinépolis India, said, “A Shah Rukh Khan film at Christmas brings people into the cinema in numbers we see only a few times a year, and many of them are people who come to the movies only a few times a year. For them, what they eat and drink is as much a part of the evening as the seat and the screen, and they remember it the same way. FOOVIES is the platform that brings food and movies together at Cinépolis, and it is one of the pillars of what we call a Future Ready Cinema. When Shah Rukh Khan talks about food and movies in the same breath, people listen. That is the introduction we wanted for it.”
FOOVIES is the Cinépolis platform that brings food and movies together. It covers the menu at Cinépolis concession counters, partnerships with brands including Doritos, Crax, Costa Coffee and WOW! Momo, and food-led programming such as the Blockbuster Food Festival. Food and beverage accounts for 35% of Cinépolis India’s revenue. FOOVIES is one of the four pillars of what Cinépolis India calls a Future Ready Cinema, alongside the viewing experience, loyalty through Club Cinépolis and accessibility.
In the video, Shah Rukh Khan highlights FOOVIES and the role of food in the overall movie-going experience. A King-themed combo will also be on the menu at Cinépolis India cinemas through the film’s run available at the concession counter.
