Epic Adds Features to Fortnite Crew Subscription, Removes Others

    Fortnite’s
    self-perpetuating freemium economy
is built around several forms of transactions and subscriptions. The
most prominent of these are the Item Shop, where you buy cosmetics
piecemeal for V-Bucks, and the Battle Pass, which you buy once per
season to gain access to a set sequence of unlockables by leveling up.

In addition to these, though, Fortnite also offers the Fortnite Crew
    subscription service
which, for a recurring monthly fee, gets you access to the current
Battle Pass, other content passes like the OG Pass, Music Pass, and for
    fans of
video game LEGO kits, the LEGO Pass, plus a monthly payout of 800 V-Bucks. It costs more
than the Battle Pass by itself, but all the extra content is very
attractive, especially if you don’t already have a bunch of skins to
    flip through.

As Epic Games announced on the official
    <a href="https://www.fortnite.com/news/big-changes-to-fortnite-crew-launching-<a href="https://comicvibe.com/one-piece-on-disney-egghead-gets-a-french-dub-in-december-2026/” title=”One Piece on Disney+: Egghead gets a French dub in December 2026″>december-5″ rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>Fortnite news blog
today, though, some changes are coming to the Crew Subscription starting
on December 5. Some of these changes are additive, and may help to
improve the value of the subscription gameplay-wise, but they’re
accompanied by some subtractions, which could harm the overall
    bang-for-buck depending on your perspective.

Crew Subscribers Accrue More V-Bucks, Get More XP

Fortnite Crew rewards: 1,000 V-Bucks for months 1–2, 1,200 for months 3–5, 1,400 for months 6–11, and 1,600 after 12 months or more.

Let’s start with the good news. Firstly, the price of Fortnite Crew is
staying the same at $11.99 monthly, and you’ll still get access to the
current Battle Pass, Music Pass, LEGO Pass and Rocket Pass Premium.

The price of Fortnite Crew is staying the same at $11.99 monthly.

The first big change is the monthly V-Bucks payout. Instead of the
current rate of 800 V-Bucks per month, Crew subscribers will start
receiving a boosted 1,000 V-Bucks per every new billing cycle. Not only
that, but those who remain subscribed to Crew for consecutive months
will see their payouts gradually increase; starting at 1,000 V-Bucks for
    1-2 months, 3-5 months gets you 1,200 V-Bucks, 6-11 months gets you
1,400, and 12 months and up gets you 1,600. From December 6 to December
    31, anyone who had
    canceled a Crew sub
and resubs will see their V-Buck payout reflect their most recent
    continuous sub streak.

In addition, all Crew members will begin receiving a flat 20% bonus to
all XP earned while playing the game, with a 10% XP bonus also given to
any squad members in your party, even if they’re not Crew members
themselves. These boosts don’t stack, though, so you won’t get any
additional XP even if you have other Crew members in your squad.

Crew Pack Outfits are Being Discontinued, OG Pass is Ending

A Fortnite character wearing a black witch-style outfit and hat, alongside her LEGO counterpart.

So, that’s the good news, now what’s the bad news? The first piece of
bad news is that Crew Pack Outfits, one of the most distinctive benefits
to getting a Crew sub, are being discontinued. The final Crew Pack
Outfit will be distributed in December, with no further packs to follow.
On the bright side, if there were any Legacy Styles you didn’t have for
your Crew Pack Outfits, which would normally be obtained by staying
subbed for sequential months, they’ll instead just be given to you in
    bulk.

The second piece of bad news is that, at least for the time being, OG
Pass is ending, with an apparent “dramatic conclusion” occurring on
December 5 with the end of Chapter 1: OG Season X. This means you won’t
be able to redeem the large quantity of skins and other assorted
cosmetics that this pass would normally provide.

That’s definitely a big blow to the overall value factor of a Crew
subscription, though according to Epic’s news post, “The Next Era of
Fortnite OG drops in late 2027,” so perhaps the OG Pass will make a
    comeback at some point.
