LOS ANGELES: Sony Pictures Entertainment has appointed Fede Goldenberg as executive vice president and head of Screen Gems, placing a former YouTube content partnerships executive at the helm of the studio’s genre film label.
Goldenberg announced the move in a LinkedIn post, saying he would lead Screen Gems’ creative expansion by building on its legacy in genre films while developing a dedicated pipeline for creators and digital-native storytellers to bring their work to cinemas worldwide.
The appointment marks a new chapter in Goldenberg’s career, following more than 15 years at YouTube, where he most recently served as head of TV and film content partnerships from March 2017 to November 2026.
In that role, he worked with major studios including Disney, NBCUniversal, Paramount, Warner Bros. Discovery, Sony Pictures and Netflix to expand their presence on the video platform. His work also included creator-led initiatives and partnerships connecting digital talent with the traditional film industry.
Goldenberg described the opportunity to connect digital creators with the theatrical reach of a major studio as a significant development for the future of cinema. He said he was looking forward to building a new pipeline alongside the Sony team and working with the creator community.
Before leading YouTube’s global TV and film partnerships, Goldenberg held roles spanning film studio and multi-channel network partnerships, as well as content partnerships in Brazil. He began his career at Globosat, where he headed content distribution for a portfolio of more than 40 television channels.
Screen Gems has a long-standing presence in the genre film space. Goldenberg’s mandate signals an effort to broaden its creative pipeline by bringing digital-native storytellers into the theatrical ecosystem.
