Wall Street is looking for higher earnings and revenue when PENN Entertainment (PENN) posts September quarter results on November 5, even as a negative Earnings ESP hints at softening sentiment around the upcoming report.

PENN Entertainment has seen a quick rebound in recent weeks, with a 7-day share price return of 9.66% and a 30-day gain of 8.53%, following a 90-day share price decline of 22.55% and a 1-year total shareholder return that is down 3.40%.

Spot fresh momentum ideas around PENN Entertainment by scanning our hand picked 29 high quality undervalued stocks with stronger balance sheets and cash flows.

PENN Entertainment now trades well below both analyst targets and some intrinsic value estimates, even after the recent bounce. Is the discount compensating you for the risks the market seems worried about, or simply reflecting those concerns?

    Most Popular Narrative: 35% Undervalued

PENN Entertainment closed at $15.90, while the most followed narrative pegs fair value at $24.39. That gap puts a lot of weight on whether its digital pivot and property upgrades can materially change the earnings profile.

Deepening integration with the ESPN digital ecosystem, including new features like FanCenter and account linking with ESPN Fantasy and the direct-to-consumer streaming platform, positions PENN to reach a larger, younger, and highly engaged sports-centric audience. This is likely to accelerate user acquisition, drive double-digit revenue growth, and improve overall market share in both online sports betting (OSB) and iCasino, supporting future top-line growth.

See why 16 investors see PENN Entertainment as 35% undervalued.

The fair value estimate of $24.39 comes from a model that discounts PENN Entertainment’s projected cash flows at 12.54%. That framework assumes revenue growth of about 4.9% a year, profit margins at 5.6%, and earnings of $466.8 million by around 2029, with the shares trading on a P/E of 8.3x at that point.

Analysts backing this view also build in share count reduction of roughly 4.4% a year for the next three years. That buyback pace, if achieved, increases the importance of execution on projects like the Hollywood Casino and Hotel Aurora build, the New Orleans relocation, and the ESPN BET integration because each dollar of free cash flow has more impact per share.

On the risk side, the same narrative flags structural pressure in some regional markets, ongoing losses in the Interactive unit, higher gaming taxes in several states, and a funding mix that leans entirely on higher risk borrowing rather than customer deposits. Those factors sit behind the 12.54% discount rate and help explain why forecasts still assume a relatively modest future P/E multiple compared with the broader US Hospitality group.
